RESCUE DOG TRAINING

Building Trust and Better Behaviour

Many rescue dogs come with behavioural challenges that can be difficult for owners to understand. Fear, anxiety, reactivity, and trust issues are often treated as problems to suppress, but at The Dog Coach, we take a different approach.

We do not rely on shock collars, prong collars, or other aversive tools to obtain results. Instead, we work to identify why the behaviour is happening in the first place. By understanding the root cause, we can create a training plan that helps your dog learn new behaviours, develop confidence, and succeed in their new environment.

If your rescue dog is struggling to adjust or displaying unwanted behaviours, we will build the skills and communication needed to create lasting change.

Why Positive Reinforcement? Because it works.

Positive reinforcement focuses on rewarding desirable behaviours, helping dogs clearly understand what is expected of them. This training method creates consistency, improves communication, and encourages dogs to make better choices in real-world situations.

At The Dog Coach, positive reinforcement is the foundation of every training program. Rather than focusing on corrections or punishment, we teach dogs through clear guidance, consistency, and rewards. The result is lasting behavioural change that strengthens trust, improves reliability, and helps dogs succeed at home and in everyday life.

Hey, I’m Jack — and I offer dog training that creates lasting change.

Behaviour problems do not happen without a reason. Excessive barking, leash pulling, reactivity, jumping, fearfulness, aggression, and separation anxiety are all forms of communication.

My job is to identify why the behaviour is happening, develop a training plan that addresses the root cause, and teach both you and your dog the skills needed to create lasting change.

Using positive reinforcement and in-home coaching, I work directly with families to improve behaviour in the environments where challenges actually occur. The focus is not on quick fixes or temporary compliance. It is on building reliable behaviours that make everyday life easier for both you and your dog.

Train With Purpose

Through clear guidance and proven training techniques, we help owners address problem behaviours while building stronger communication with their dogs.

The goal is simple: practical skills, better behaviour, and lasting results that continue long after the training sessions are complete.
