Oddie’s Rescue Journey: From Fear to Family

Oddie is a rescue dog who came into my client’s life with a history of trauma. At first, he was extremely reactive—particularly towards one of his moms. Any time she had him on leash, he would aggressively go after her. The behaviour wasn’t just difficult—it was heartbreaking. Our goal became clear: build trust and help Oddie understand that both of his moms were there to love and support him, not just one.

Through consistency, patience, and a focus on guiding rather than forcing, we began to chip away at that fear. When I first met Oddie, he let me pet him—but it didn’t take long for fear-based aggression to show up. Fast-forward to our most recent session, and he was snuggling into me like we were lifelong pals. Best of all, he now adores his moms and looks to them with confidence.

Oddie’s not just a different dog—he’s a dog who finally feels safe.
